For their ghost hunting reality show, a production crew locks themselves inside an abandoned mental hospital that’s supposedly haunted – and it might prove to be all too true.
Found footage films, you either love them or hate them. They are always going to be hit or miss, do they show enough? Do they show too much? Well if you’ve got a big budget, “Cloverfield” for example (a budget of $25Mil), then you can do pretty much what you want, with the lower budget end (“Grave Encounters” budget was $2Mil) you find the people pushing harder to make it work…And with “Grave Encounters” it worked!

Directed and written by The Vicious Brothers, “Grave Encounters” sets us in familiar territory, a supposedly haunted old mental asylum. Lance Preston (Played by Sean Rogerson) and the crew of “Grave Encounters”, a ghost-hunting reality television show, are shooting an episode inside the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital, where unexplained phenomena has been reported for years. They are locked in for the night and that’s where we witness the evil inside the asylum.
