Last week news came through that Ryan Nicholson, founder of Plotdigger Films, was seriously ill.

Nothing as been stated as to what is wrong with Ryan so I won’t say anything as it’s not my place but he is very seriously ill.

Ryan is one of my favourite film-makers and the news of this deeply saddened me, his movies introduced into a world of film that I thought was long gone and he helped me recapture that passion for it.

“Gutterballs” is not just my favourite of his films, it’s one of my all time favourites and my signed copy of it hangs proudly on the wall in my home for all to see.

For those of us who have interacted with him, either in person or online, you will know that he is such a great and genuine guy that truly loves what he does.
