Horror Review: Pet (2016)

A man bumps into an old flame and subsequently becomes obsessed with her.

There’s a fine line between Horror and Thriller, as a viewer that can make for spectacular viewing.

One thing I absolutely loved about this film was the timing, Director Carles Torrens doesn’t rush anything and lets the story just play out, it allows for some great character development and makes the audience pay attention.

The story progresses with each new scene, it makes or intriguing viewing as it grabs your curiosity. Writer Jeremy Slater plays with the audience and gains their trust before the story stars revealing it’s secrets.

You can tell a lot of thought went into this film, the attention to detail is crazy. Between the absolutely incredible cinematography down to it’s bare boned rawness, there’s no filler here at all and it screams originality.

The casting is great and our two main actors portray their characters so well, they give you a feeling of being involved in what’s going on. I wish I hadn’t watched the trailer, the less known of the story, the better, trust me.

“Pet”, don’t watch the trailer, don’t read anything else about it, just watch it!

  1. Excellently intense film. I completely agree that it's best to go in knowing very little about the plot and enjoy all the twists and turns it throws in.
