When a group of friends recklessly violates the sacred rule of Tarot readings, they unknowingly unleash an unspeakable evil trapped within the cursed cards.
I was really looking forward to this one, that synopsis had me hooked. Before you carry on reading though, I would like to state that I REALLY wanted to like this film.

One of the most frustrating things for me is when a film has such a cool premise and a ton of potential to be something amazing, yet it turns out to be filled with cliches, outdated tropes and so generic and predictable that you end up bored.
Seriously, the story for this feature, though it may not be original, had a big chance of doing something really entertaining. Yet we ended up with something so extremely mediocre that even the cast didn’t seem to be bothered about trying either.

It’s such a huge waste of what it could’ve been, it’s seriously head scratching how it was messed up. There was a chance to have some really great moments with what were some fun monsters yet it all sadly ends up just being so forgettable.
I feel like this could’ve worked better if it was a TV series, but even then it would have to go harder than it did here. The kill scenes are extremely tame, if they featured more of the monsters and fired up the gore factor it may have glossed over how bad it actually was.

“Tarot” is such a forgettable film and it’s sad to what could’ve been a potentially great film turn out to be so pathetic that it wouldn’t even scare a crowd of 12 year olds.
