After being cryogenically frozen and waking up on a space station in the near future, the Critters aim to have the unwitting crew for lunch.
Not long after the events in “Critters 3″ and this time were taken away from planet Earth and into space. “Critters 3 &4” were filmed back to back so it makes for good continuity.

Now usually when we hear about a franchise taking their story in-to space it’s usually a bad sign, but With the “Critters” franchise it makes perfect sense to finally take us into their territory. Honestly I was glad to see us be taken in-to the ‘Crite’s’ own dominion as I always had a curiosity of their activities in space.
Not only are we transported in-to space, we’re also taken in-to the future as our hero Charlie McFadden get’s unfrozen and finds out his so called friends have duped him. Charlie’s tenacity to kill the Crite’s never dampens and as a viewer that rubs off on you and you really get behind him and hope he succeeds.

The film has some great casting, obviously we have Don Keith Opper and Terrence Mann and put in the performances we love them for. We also have actors you may not expect, most unexpectedly has to be double Oscar winner Angela Bassett, though many stars start in films like this. We also have Horror fan favourite and, in my opinion, icon, Brad Dourif.
Once again we can’t leave out our true stars and also once again we get what we expect from our beloved ‘Critters’. They’re a character that never truly evolve but in “Critters 4″ you get the sense that they’re more deadly as you’re on their turf this time round. The fur balls do continue to be just as entertaining as we expect them to be.

“Critters 4” is a fun movie, you should watch it either for the fact of you’ve watched the first three already or just for the pure giggles that we get from this franchise.
Miscellaneous facts about the film:
All external space scenes and many sets are lifted from one of Don Keith Opper’s earlier films, Android (1982).
First Critters movie where Don Keith Opper is the highest billed actor.
Filmed simultaneously with Critters 3 (1991), from February 1991 until July 1991.
Terrence Mann and Don Keith Opper have appeared in all four films in the series.
Critters 4 is the only Critters movie where the Critters are unable to shoot poison darts at their victims.
The footage of the cargo retrieval ship, and docking with the spaceship are from Android (1982) but the footage of Ug’s ship at the end are taken from Critters 2 (1988).
There are mostly only two Critters in this movie, and the second one gets a haircut from a laser rifle, in order to separate the looks for both Critters. This is also an obvious reference to Critters 2 (1988) where one Critters gets a similar haircut from a laser rifle held by a bounty hunter.
The film takes place in 2045.
