Horror Review: Books Of Blood (2020)

A journey into uncharted and forbidden territory through three tales tangled in space and time.

I was confused when this was released as I was sure we’d already had this film.

After a quick search I realised I hadn’t dreamt the film up, I knew I’d seen it. That’s when I found out this was new film based on Clive Barker’s “Books Of Blood” , I’d enjoyed the first one so was looking forward to seeing what this version had in store for us.

For those of you who’ve read my blog before, you’ll know I’m a sucker for an anthology film, match that with the fact tha the stories featured here are stories wrote by the Horror Master Clive Barker and you know you’re certainly onto a winner.

I’ve always felt like Barker offers something different to everyone else and this anthology is great proof of that. His stories take turns you wouldn’t expect and has that Clive barker touch that you want from him, so that should tell you if you’d like it or not.

This was originally planned to be an anthology series, but producers later decided to instead roll a small handful of stories into one anthology movie. Personally I think it would’ve made for a great series, It’s quite sad the producers didn’t see it like that.

If you get the chance to see “Books Of Blood” then I recommend you give it a watch, it’s certainly not for everyone but it will definitely leave a mark on those who will watch it.
