Hollywood Is Dead!

Hollywood has always relied on the Horror fan to keep them going.

With it’s abundance of spin-off comics, merchandise, Many versions of the film itself being released with added feature’s each time. For years we have put up with it, Hell I even buy the comics and merchandise myself, BUT first there has to be a film for all this to happen…..And that’s the problem.

Hollywood has brought us many great Horror film’s over the years, catering for many fans of the many sub-genres, but it seems Hollywood has dried up with original ideas. My evidence for this is the amount of remakes & prequels over the last few years and there’s still more to come. I understand that remakes play their part in the film industry, with licensing rights and so on, but never in the history of film has there been so many in such a short time. Horror fans are the most dedicated fans I have ever met, yet it feels that Hollywood has cast us aside and aren’t worried about the backlash because they know if they remake a popular Horror film that its a guaranteed money maker.

If there are people out there like me who are sick of the way things are going then there’s only one way to send a message to Hollywood, DON’T GO TO WATCH THEM! Hit them where it hurts, in the wallet, and maybe they’ll take notice. I for one think Hollywood hasn’t produced a great Horror film for many year’s, I look more to the low-budget indie end, Its full of fantastic, original idea’s and Hollywood should take note. Don’t forget a-lot of Horror film’s considered “classics” today were low budget, such as, Evil Dead, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween & more. Hollywood has turned it’s back on us…. I suggest you do the same.

  1. It is amazing way to work too. Totally free. The only bosses I have are my crew and they put their thoughts in about the project and filming process. It can make a stronger film, but no one is forced to do anything. I personally don't understand how HW people can stand to work in the HW way.
