The Independent Horror scene is bursting with talent at the moment, yet it still seems to be overlooked by many.

“The Evil Dead”, “Black Christmas”, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, “Zombi”, “Night Of The Living Dead”, “Halloween”, “Braindead, “The Toxic Avenger”, “Sleepaway Camp”, “Troll 2”, “Friday The 13th”, “Intruder”, “Eraserhead” and many, many more. These films are known today as classics but you must remember that these films were independents.

In todays film world more and more people have strayed away from the independent scene and watch more mainstream horrors, nothing wrong with that if that’s what you enjoy but I see a-lot of these same people complaining of how boring and predictable Hollywood Horror has become.

The independent scene has everything these people are looking for, fantastic storylines, original concepts, practical effects, upcoming writers, actors,k directors and so much more. Yet they usually get overlooked because they’re done on a smaller budget and don’t get much promotion, you have to dig deeper to find them.

Satan’s Little Helper, Murder Party, Splinter, End Of The Line, Slashers, Red, White & Blue, The Girl Next Door, Colin, The Signal, ThanksKilling, Killjoy, The Perfect House, Gutterballs, Manborg, Spiral, Rage, Mulberry Street, The Zombie King, Mold!, The Shadow Of Death, Dead Hooker In A Trunk, Asylum Blackout, Exit Humanity, Baby Blues, Truth Or Dare, Dead Birds, The Tunnel, Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon, Inside, Cubby House, The New Guy, Hotel, Right At Your Door, The Hills Run Red, Evil Aliens, House, Inkubus, 15 – An Exploration Of Human Violence, Panic Button, Little Deaths, Absentia.

That is just a small list of independent films that I have enjoyed in recent years, I know some of you have probably seen some of them but you’d be really surprised how many people have never even heard of them and that’s not a good thing.
