Horror Review: Lake Mungo (2008)

A grieving family experiences a series of strange and inexplicable events centred in and around their home.

Found Footage, Mockumentary, Faux Documentary, call them what you want. You either love them or hate them.
If you’re familiar with my work then you’ll know I love these style of movies and this is one of my personal favourites of the sub-genre.

This release isn’t your typical hand held release, we enter the world of a grieving family and their trying to come to terms with what’s happened, that’s when strange things start to happen.
I know this sounds like a movie you’ve seen a million times before but trust me when I say it isn’t, the truth is that the less you know about the film the better, I’d even suggest that you don’t watch the obligatory trailer I always post at the end of a review.

The films low budget nature gives it more of an edge and the roughness gives it some attitude, it almost seems believable as it just plays out so naturally.
“Lake Mungo” is a film that’s definitely worth your time, just switch off the lights and get ready to be scared.
