Horror Review: The Bay (2012)

Chaos breaks out in a small Maryland town after an ecological disaster occurs.

If you’re not a fan of found footage films then this post is not for you, if you are then you’re in for a treat.

Sometimes a film comes along and surprises you so much it sticks in your mind for days after viewing it, for me that was “The Bay”. I was expecting a generic ‘found footage’ film but got so much more.

The release has a depth to it that you rarely see in modern Horror films let alone found footage and this manages to drag you into its plot and keep you wrapped up in it’s story.
Experienced Director Barry Levinson creates a gripping atmosphere and ramps up the intensity at a slow rate, but not slow enough to bore you. The acting is fantastic, much better than what you usually expect from this type of picture.

The film has it’s own twists and turns that I won’t give away to you but it doesn’t cop-out with over the top sequences, something we rarely see these days.

“The Bay” is a fantastic film that I highly recommend, if you give this film a chance then you’re in for a treat.
