A janitor gets trapped in a women’s restroom and encounters an all-out attack by a horde of zombies.
Let’s be honest, the zombie genre has become very stale and very over-saturated.
Well that was my thoughts as I headed into this feature, admittedly I wasn’t very excited as I thought of all the recent zombie films I’ve seen and how they’re all the same. It didn’t exactly fill me with hope for what I was about to see.
Luckily for me I was dead wrong (no pun intended) and for over the next hour and twenty minutes I was getting proven wrong over and over and over.
Much of that is due to the film itself and not the genre, it wears it’s influences on it’s sleeve and it’s restrictive budget did it more of a favour and shows you don’t need millions to make a decent movie.
The fact it doesn’t take itself too seriously is part of the flicks charm but it also doesn’t play the audience off as dumb and that’s a hard balance to get right yet it’s pulled off with ease here.
“Stalled” is a great Horror comedy and is most definitely worth your time, it’s not the zombie flick you’ll be expecting.
