Barry is a talented mechanic and family man whose life is torn apart on the eve of a zombie apocalypse.
Australian Horror seems to be making a comeback and with films like this I’m glad of it.
What you’re looking at here is a film that by all accounts shouldn’t work, without giving anything away, if you saw this film on paper you would laugh it off as audacious and quite frankly a bit stupid.
Yet on screen it works so well and it manages to entice you with it’s charm, which it is full of. It kicks off at 100mph and never lets up, it never gives you time to question what’s going on and pulls you in so quickly you just don’t realise it.
The cast do a grand job, I knew of none of them before this but I hope to see more of them in the future. Plus writer/director Kiah Roache-Turner is certainly someone I’ll be looking out for in the future.
According to reports the film took apparently took 4 years to complete as they only worked weekends, if this really is true then much kudos to everyone.
“Wyrmwood – Road Of The Dead” is a must see. You may love it or you may hate it, but you still have to see it to believe it.
