Ten Years On: All The Boys Love Mandy Lane

For this ‘Ten Years On’ post we take a look back at “All The Boys Love Mandy Lane”.

I remember this film having quite a big marketing campaign, the trailer for the film seemed to be everywhere.

It wa only when I looked up about doing this post that I saw that the film was theatrically released in ’08 but in ’06 it was doing festivals and that’s where the hype all started.

Despite its mixed reception the film became a sleeper hit. personally I really enjoyed it, I felt it was a throwback film with a grindhouse feel to it.

Unfortunately the film became more well known for it’s distribution issues and by the time the film was finally released in the US in 2013. It had become over-hyped and left a lot of viewers disappointed.
Ten years on this film isn’t well talked about, it had great potential and although it didn’t quite reach it, it was still entertaining. I feel it could be released today and fit right in with Modern horror.
Be sure to give “All The Boys Love Mandy Lane” another chance, it maybe better than you remember.
