My Best & Worst Films Of 2016

In this list I’m going to give you a run-down of my best & worst of 2016.

The Greasy Strangler – Ronnie runs a Disco walking tour with his son, Brayden. When a sexy woman takes the tour, it begins a competition between father and son for her love.

Life Is Cheap – A look at the life of Britain’s most depraved family and their council house of horrors.

31 – Five carnival workers are kidnapped and held hostage in an abandoned, Hell-like compound where they are forced to participate in a violent game, the goal of which is to survive twelve hours against a gang of sadistic clowns.

Intruders – Anna suffers from agoraphobia so crippling that when a trio of criminals break into her house, she cannot bring herself to flee.

Bite – While on her bachelorette party getaway, Casey, the bride to be, gets a seemingly harmless bite from an unknown insect.

The Shallows – A mere 200 yards from shore, surfer Nancy is attacked by a great white shark, with her short journey to safety becoming the ultimate contest of wills.

10 Cloverfield Lane – After getting in a car accident, a woman is held in a shelter with two men, who claim the outside world is affected by a widespread chemical attack.

In The Deep – Two sisters, vacationing in Mexico, are trapped in a shark cage at the bottom of the ocean, with less than an hour of oxygen left and great white sharks circling nearby.

The Funhouse Massacre – Six of the world’s scariest psychopaths escape from a local Asylum and proceed to unleash terror on the unsuspecting crowd of a Halloween Funhouse whose themed mazes are inspired by their various reigns of terror.

Anarchy Parlor – A mysterious nomad known as the “Artist” practices a dark art form passed down through the generations.

The Conjuring 2 – Lorraine and Ed Warren travel to north London to help a single mother raising four children alone in a house plagued by a malicious spirit.

Ava’s Possessions – A young woman recovers from a demonic possession.

I Am Not A Serial Killer – In a small Midwestern town, a troubled teen with homicidal tendencies must hunt down and destroy a supernatural killer whilst keeping his own inner demons at bay.

The Windmill – Jennifer is an Australian girl on the run from her past who washes up in Amsterdam. In a desperate attempt to stay one step ahead of the authorities, she joins a coach-load of tourists embarking on a tour of Holland’s world famous windmills.

Me And My Mates VS The Zombie Apocalypse – Three Australian telecom tradesman find themselves trapped in a telephone exchange during the onset of a zombie apocalypse.

StalkHer – Jack is pushed past the brink of his stalking obsession when he decides to break into Emily’s home to take what he wants by force.

Blair Witch – After discovering a video showing what he believes to be his vanished sister Heather, James and a group of friends head to the forest believed to be inhabited by the Blair Witch.

The Dead Room – When a terrified family flees a desolate southern New Zealand farmhouse, two cynical scientists and a young psychic are sent to investigate their claims of a haunting.

Hush – A deaf writer who retreated into the woods to live a solitary life must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears at her window.

Carnage Park – After botching an ill-conceived bank robbery in a desolate California town, two wannabe crooks flee the scene with a hostage and lead the local lawmen on a dangerous high-speed chase.

The Witch – A family in 1630s New England is torn apart by the forces of witchcraft, black magic and possession.

Cell – When a mysterious cell phone signal causes apocalyptic chaos, an artist is determined to reunite with his young son in New England.

Fear, Inc. – A horror junkie and his friends sign up with a company that brings their customer’s greatest fears to life.

Train To Busan – While a zombie-virus breaks out in South Korea, a couple of passengers struggle to survive on the train from Seoul to Busan.

The Ones Below – A couple expecting their first child discover an unnerving difference between themselves and the couple living in the flat below them who are also having a baby.

Night Of Something Strange – Teenage friends out for beach week get unexpectedly detoured to a isolated motel where a deadly STD virus now runs rampant, turning those infected into the living dead.

The Purge: Election Year – Years after sparing the man who killed his son, former police sergeant Barnes has become head of security for Senator Charlie Roan, a Presidential candidate targeted for death on Purge night due to her vow to eliminate the Purge.

Uncaged – A sleepwalking teen straps a camera to himself and discovers a sinister family secret.

Don’t Breathe – Hoping to walk away with a massive fortune, a trio of thieves break into the house of a blind man who isn’t as helpless as he seems.

The House On Pine Street – A psychological horror about a young woman coping with an unwanted pregnancy after moving into a seemingly haunted house.

SiREN – A bachelor party becomes a savage fight for survival when the groomsmen unwittingly unleash a fabled predator upon the festivities.

Pet – A man bumps into an old flame and subsequently becomes obsessed with her.

What We Become – A family of four is quarantined in their home as a virulent strand of the flu spreads into town and they are forced to the extreme to escape alive.

The Neighbor – Set in Cutter Mississippi, the film follows a man who discovers the dark truth about his neighbor and the secrets he may be keeping in the cellar.

Holidays – An anthology feature film that puts a uniquely dark and original spin on some of the most iconic and beloved holidays of all time by challenging our folklore, traditions and assumptions.

You Are Not Alone – Natalie is a college graduate visiting her hometown over the 4th of July. The night she arrives, she is stalked by a sociopathic killer.

The Monster – A mother and daughter must confront a terrifying monster when they break down on a deserted road.

Cabin Fever – While visiting their getaway cabin, five friends succumb to a flesh-eating disease.

Satanic – Four friends on their way to Coachella stop off in Los Angeles to tour true-crime occult sites, only to encounter a mysterious young runaway who puts them on a terrifying path to ultimate horror.

Intruder – During one of Oregon’s most violent storms, a young cellist seeks solitude and comfort in the safety of her large apartment, but soon realizes she might not be home alone.

Anguish – A girl is diagnosed with an identity disorder that may actually be channeling an evil, dead spirit inside of her.

The Final Project – Six eager students strike out to explore and record live footage of supernatural activity at an abandoned plantation, but one unsettled spirit gives them more than they asked for.

Muck – After narrowly escaping an ancient burial ground, a group of friends find themselves trapped between two evils, forcing them to fight, die, or go back the way they came.

Ghost Team – A paranormal-obsessed man mounts his own investigation into the beyond with his depressed best friend, misfit nephew, a cable access medium and an overeager security guard.

The Mind’s Eye – Zack Connors and Rachel Meadows were born with incredible psychokinetic capabilities. When word of their supernatural talents gets out, they find themselves the prisoners of Michael Slovak, a deranged doctor intent on harvesting their powers.

Green Room – A punk rock band is forced to fight for survival after witnessing a murder at a neo-Nazi skinhead bar.

Dark Signal – The spirit of a murdered girl returns with a message for the staff of a local radio station.

The Boy – An American nanny is shocked that her new English family’s boy is actually a life-sized doll. After she violates a list of strict rules, disturbing events make her believe that the doll is really alive.

It Watches – Andre, recovering from a recent accident, agrees to help his friend Robert by taking over a house sitting job at a creepy home nestled in the hills above Los Angeles.

Blackburn – A forest fire and rock-slide trap five bickering college friends in a small Alaskan ghost town with a horrifying history.

The Possession Experiment – When a student takes on a theology project, he taps into another side that had been hidden away from him.

Indigenous – American Tourists travel to Panama and have a very terrifying experience.

They’re Watching – The renovation of an old house in a village somewhere in Eastern Europe will bring the crew of an American home improvement television show up against superstitions, misunderstandings, and bloody violence.

The Veil – Twenty-five years after members of a religious cult committed mass suicide, the lone survivor returns to the scene of the tragedy with a documentary crew in tow.

Summer Camp – Four American counsellors at a European summer camp must deal with the outbreak of a rage-inducing plague that starts in the animals.

Monsterland – Welcome to Monsterland! A terrifying place where savage beasts, carnivorous creatures, and grotesque abominations are the new normal; and the human race is now at the bottom of the food chain.

The Forest – A woman goes into Japan’s Suicide Forest to find her twin sister, and confronts supernatural terror.

Before I Wake – A young couple adopt an orphaned child whose dreams – and nightmares – manifest physically as he sleeps.

Freaks Of Nature – In the town of Dillford, humans, vampires and zombies were all living in peace – until the alien apocalypse arrived.

The Offering – When young and successful reporter Jamie finds out that her sister has died in mysterious circumstances, she travels to Singapore to uncover the truth.

American Conjuring – A family moves into an abandoned orphanage and they soon learn that their charming orphanage has a disturbing history and are convinced they aren’t alone.

Lights Out – When her little brother, Martin, experiences the same events that once tested her sanity, Rebecca works to unlock the truth behind the terror.

The Hoarder – A young woman enters an underground storage facility, where she soon finds herself trapped and stalked by a killer.

Don’t Look In The Basement 2 – In 1972, the patients and doctors at Stephens Sanitarium were brutally murdered. Over forty years later, the only known survivor returns only to find the ghosts of the past have not been resting in peace.

Morgan – A corporate risk-management consultant must decide whether or not to terminate an artificially created humanoid being.

The Darkness – A family returns from a Grand Canyon vacation, haunted by an ancient supernatural entity they unknowingly awakened and engages them in a fight for their survival.

Classroom 6 – A local reporter and her assembled TV crew go into a school haunted by a horrific past. The team spends the night locked inside the building, capturing any and everything they find.

Pride And Prejudice And Zombies – Five sisters in 19th century England must cope with the pressures to marry while protecting themselves from a growing population of zombies.

The Disappointments Room – A mother and her young son release unimaginable horrors from the attic of their rural dream home.

I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives In Your House – A young nurse takes care of elderly author who lives in a haunted house.

Restoration – During home renovations, a young couple release a fiery spirit seeking retribution.

The Other Side Of The Door – After her young son is killed in a tragic accident, a woman learns of a ritual which will bring him back to say goodbye, but when she disobeys a sacred warning, she upsets the balance between life and death.

Dark Cove – Five friends go camping on the rugged coast of Vancouver Island, Canada. Things start to go seriously wrong while partying with two Australian surfers.

Happy Birthday – When two friends embark on a journey to Mexicali for a Birthday celebration, they soon realize their psychedelic shenanigans have taken a turn for the worse.

The Pack – A farmer and his family must fight for survival after a ferocious pack of wild dogs infiltrates their isolated farmhouse.

Jack Goes Home – After his father is killed in a car crash, Jack travels home to Colorado to help nurse his mother back to health.

Southbound – Five interlocking tales of terror follow the fates of a group of weary travellers who confront their worst nightmares – and darkest secrets – over one long night on a desolate stretch of desert highway.

ClownTown – A group of friends get stranded in a seemingly deserted small town and find themselves stalked by a violent gang of psychopaths dressed as clowns.

Ouija: Origin Of Evil – In 1967 Los Angeles, a widowed mother and her 2 daughters add a new stunt to bolster their seance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home.

Dark – A disturbed young woman must confront her worst fears when she finds herself trapped alone in a New York City loft during the 2003 blackout.

Sorority Slaughterhouse – A group of sorority girls with bad pasts, including one who just committed murder, wake up one morning to learn that they are locked inside their sorority house.

Old 37 – Two brothers intercept 911 calls in a beat up old ambulance to torture and kill helpless victims.

Friend Request – When a college student unfriends a mysterious girl online, she finds herself fighting a demonic presence that wants to make her lonely by killing her closest friends.

All Girls Weekend – High school friends reunite after many years to spend a weekend in the mountains, but when everything goes wrong, there is no time for girl bonding.

Martyrs – A woman and her childhood friend seek out revenge on those who victimized and abused them.

Well there you have it, my best & worst films of 2016, you probably disagree with some or even most (this is MY opinion) of my choices and I know for a fact that I have missed some (I can’t watch ALL the films) but this is MY best & worst so tell me in the comment box below, what’s yours?
