In the hidden identity game The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31, you will relive John Carpenter’s sci-fi cult classic in a race to discover who among the team has been infected by this heinous lifeform.
“The Thing” is one of my all time favourite films, the fact that there’s now a board game out that I’ve been so excited about since I heard about it!
I remember the old Horror board games and how much fun they were so I’m really happy to see there is still an interest in them from fans.
“The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31” looks great and it’s stated that the game “will be as authentically cinematic as possible, ensuring that the players will experience the paranoia and tension that makes the film so great.”
Players can take on one of a dozen different film roles, including of course, ‘MacReady’ and ‘Childs’ and try to expose “infected” players among the group, while at the same time gathering gear to do battle with the Thing in its many gruesome and hidden incarnations.
The tabletop game is for 4-8 players and is said to last between 60-120 minutes and is for people aged 17+, unfortunately it’s not due for release until October and no price has been stated yet but I suggest you get saving.
I see this being a big hit with Horror fans, you can just imagine getting together one night with your friends and having a few beers as you play this game and having a few laughs as well.
