Top Thirteen Family Friendly Horror Films

Horror is for everyone…

That is what I like to think anyway and that’s why I thought I’d do a list of family friendly Horror for a variety of ages so families can sit down and enjoy the wide range of Horror all together.

(Just to be clear to qualify for this list the film must have an age certificate no higher than 12A by the BBFC)

So here it is, my list of my top thirteen Family Friendly Horror Films (the list is not in a favouritism order):
Hocus Pocus
After three centuries, three witch sisters are resurrected in Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween night, and it is up to two teenagers, a young girl, and an immortal cat to put an end to their reign of terror once and for all.
The Nightmare Before Christmas

Jack Skellington, king of Halloween Town, discovers Christmas Town, but his attempts to bring Christmas to his home cause confusion.

The Monster Squad

A young group of monster fanatics attempt to save their hometown from Count Dracula and his monsters.


A misunderstood boy takes on ghosts, zombies and grown-ups to save his town from a centuries-old curse.

The Addams Family

Con artists plan to fleece an eccentric family using an accomplice who claims to be their long-lost uncle.

The Hole
