For this ‘Ten Years On’ post we take a look back at “Triangle”.
When a film messes with your head it has a tendency to stick in your brain.
Ever since I watched this film ten years ago it has done exactly that, I still don’t know now if I fully understand what exactly happened, even after a couple of more viewings. I don’t know if it’s my own ignorance or if It’s my own lack of intelligence but it always leaves me scratching my head.
I remember upon its release the film was slated by critics and fans, I’ve always had a feeling this was because, like me, they didn’t fully grasp what was happening. For those who seem to grasp what is going on they usually rave about it and because of this I am determined to try and ‘get it’ and finally understand it.
Despite not fully comprehending the film there’s still something about it that I love, I wish I could tell you what but I just can’t put my finger on it but there’s something there. Maybe it is the mystery of it, it seems to have become like a puzzle I’m trying to solve and I’m determined to.
But like I say films like this will stay with you, if If I’m ever asked about films that mess with your head this is one film that I always suggest. Maybe I’ll never understand it but the more people watch it the better chance I have of them explaining it to me and maybe then I can understand what the hell happened.
