My Best & Worst Films Of 2021

In this list I’m going to give you a run-down of my best & worst of 2021.

If you want to see the trailers for these films just click on the film name, I’d also like to point out they are in no particular favourite order, So here we go:

Last Night In Soho – An aspiring fashion designer is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s, where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer.

V/H/S/94 – A mysterious VHS tape reveals a sinister cult that has prerecorded material that uncovers a horrifying conspiracy.

The Night House – Reeling from the unexpected death of her husband, Beth is left alone in the lakeside home he built for her. She tries as best she can to keep together-but then the dreams come. Disturbing visions of a presence in the house call to her, beckoning with a ghostly allure.

Hunter Hunter – A fur trapper leaves his wife and daughter behind to kill a rogue wolf in the remote wilderness; but they soon become increasingly worried when a severely injured man shows up to disrupt their peaceful existence.

Malignant – Madison, a young woman, is terrified by visions of the murders of strangers. Later, Madison decides to find and save the victims.

The Power – A trainee nurse arrives for her first day at the empty East London Royal Infirmary, where she’s forced to face her own traumatic past to confront the malevolent force that’s intent on destroying everything around her.

Old – A vacationing family discovers that the secluded beach where they’re relaxing for a few hours is somehow causing them to age rapidly, reducing their entire lives into a single day.

Censor – After viewing a strangely familiar video nasty, Enid, a film censor, sets out to solve the past mystery of her sister’s disappearance, embarking on a quest that dissolves the line between fiction and reality.

Escape Room: Tournament Of Champions – Six people unwittingly find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms, slowly uncovering what they have in common to survive — and discovering they’ve all played the game before.

The Boy Behind The Door – Bobby tries to save himself and his best friend when they are kidnapped on their way home from school.

Scream, Queen! My Nightmare On Elm Street – A retrospective look at A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy’s Revenge (1985) and the life of its lead actor, Mark Patton.

Don’t Breathe 2 – Set in the years following the initial deadly home invasion, where Norman Nordstrom lives in quiet solace until his past sins catch up to him.

Hail To The Deadites – Filmmaker Steve Villeneuve examines the passionate fan base for “The Evil Dead” franchise. Features interviews with actors Bruce Campbell, Ted Raimi, Dan Hicks and others.

Anything For Jackson – A sinister couple hatch a supernatural scheme to resurrect their dead grandson through a pregnant woman.

The Empty Man – On the trail of a missing girl, an ex-cop comes across a secretive group attempting to summon a terrifying supernatural entity.

Run – Chloe, a teenager, is forbidden from seeing the mail and is kept in isolation. She soon starts suspecting her mother of keeping dark secrets and decides to investigate.

Fear Street Part One: 1994 – After a series of brutal slayings, a group of teenagers take on an evil force that’s plagued their notorious town for centuries.

Fear Street Part Two: 1978 – In the cursed town of Shadyside, a killer’s murder spree terrorizes Camp Nightwing and turns a summer of fun into a gruesome fight for survival.

Fear Street Part Three: 1666 – Thrust back to 1666, Deena learns the truth about Sarah Fier. Back in 1994, the friends fight for their lives — and Shadyside’s future.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It – Arne Cheyenne Johnson stabs and murders his landlord, claiming to be under demonic possession. Ed and Lorraine Warren investigate the case and try to prove his innocence.

A Quiet Place Part II – In a post-apocalyptic world, Regan and her family learn that the alien predators can be defeated using high-frequency audio. Armed with this knowledge, they then set out to look for other survivors.

Freaky – An ancient dagger causes a high-school student to switch bodies with a middle-aged serial killer. She must reverse it within 24 hours, or she will forever occupy the man’s body.

The Amusement Park – An elderly gentleman goes for what he assumes will be an ordinary day at the amusement park, only to find himself in the middle of a hellish nightmare.

Spell – A man crash lands in rural Appalachia and awakens in the attic of a traditional Hoodoo practitioner. He desperately tries to break free from her dark magic and save his family from a sinister ritual before the rise of the blood moon.

The Dark And The Wicked – On a secluded farm in a nondescript rural town, a man is slowly dying. His family gathers to mourn, and soon a darkness grows, marked by waking nightmares and a growing sense that something evil is taking over the family.

Books Of Blood – A journey into uncharted and forbidden territory through three tales tangled in space and time.

12 Hour Shift – Bodies start to pile up when a drug-addicted nurse and her crazed cousin try to find a replacement kidney for an organ trafficker.

The Lodge – Six months after their mother’s suicide, Aidan and Mia’s father takes them for a family vacation to his girlfriend’s lodge. However, things take a turn when they start experiencing strange events.

Halloween Kills – The nightmare isn’t over as unstoppable killer Michael Myers escapes from Laurie Strode’s trap to continue his ritual bloodbath.

True Fiction – A young writer gets a job assisting her favourite horror writer, but she finds herself participating in an out-of-control psychological experiment.

The Forever Purge – All the rules are broken as a sect of lawless marauders decides that the annual Purge does not stop at daybreak and instead should never end.

Psycho Goreman – After unearthing a gem that controls an evil monster looking to destroy the Universe, a young girl and her brother use it to make him do their bidding.

Aftermath – Desperate to save their marriage, a young couple takes a deal and moves into their dream home, but disturbing events reveal the house’s troubled history.

The Mortuary Collection – Desperate for work, a young drifter applies for a job at the local mortuary on the outskirts of town. There, she meets Montgomery Dark, an eccentric mortician with more than a few skeletons in his closet. Montgomery chronicles the strange history of the town through a series of twisted tales, each more terrifying than the last.

Gaia – An injured forest ranger on a routine mission is saved by two off-the-grid survivalists. What is initially a welcome rescue grows more suspicious as the son and his renegade father reveal a cultish devotion to the forest.

Son – When a young boy contracts a mysterious illness, his mother must decide how far she will go to protect him from terrifying forces in her past.

Jakob’s Wife – Bodies start to pile up when a woman discovers a new sense of power and an appetite to live bigger and bolder than ever before.

The Owners – An old country house is the perfect score for a group of friends looking for an easy payday. However, the robbery turns into a brutal and bloody nightmare.

Paranormal Activity: Next Of Kin – Margot, a young woman who was abandoned by her mother as a baby, travels to a secluded Amish community with a documentary film crew seeking answers about her mother and extended family.

Wrong Turn – Friends hiking the Appalachian Trail are confronted by ‘The Foundation’, a community of people who have lived in the mountains for hundreds of years.

Spiral – When a policeman is murdered by a Jigsaw copycat killer, Zeke Banks is assigned to investigate the case. In the process of punishing the perpetrator, he ends up facing the demons of his past.

Bad Candy – On Halloween night in New Salem, Mass., disc jockeys Chilly Billy and Paul tell a twisted anthology of terrifying local myths that lead to a grim end for small-town residents.

Great White – When a sea plane is destroyed in a freak accident, five people find themselves drifting on a raft. At the mercy of the tide and with no hope of rescue, the helpless situation takes a horrifying turn when they are terrorised by a ravenous great white.

Candyman – For decades, the housing projects of Chicago’s Cabrini-Green were terrorized by a ghost story about a supernatural, hook-handed killer. In present day, an artist begins to explore the macabre history of Candyman, not knowing it would unravel his sanity and unleash a terrifying wave of violence that puts him on a collision course with destiny.

The Accursed – Hana spends twenty years suppressing a maleficent curse that was placed upon her bloodline, only to have a family member knowingly release it forcing her to kill or to be killed.

Black As Night – A teenage girl with self-esteem issues finds confidence in the most unlikely way, by spending her summer battling vampires that prey on New Orleans’ disenfranchised with the help of her best friend, the boy she’s always pined for, and a peculiar rich girl.

Prisoners Of The Ghostland – A notorious criminal must break an evil curse in order to rescue an abducted girl who has mysteriously disappeared.

Safer At Home – Two years into the pandemic, a group of friends throw a wild online party. After taking ecstasy, things go terribly wrong and the safety of their homes becomes more terrifying than the raging chaos outside

The Manor – After suffering a stroke, Judith Albright moves into a historic nursing home, where she begins to suspect something supernatural is preying on the residents. In order to escape, she’ll need to convince everyone around her that she doesn’t actually belong there after all.

Wired Shut – A disillusioned famous novelist, unable to talk while recovering in his remote mountain home from major reconstructive jaw surgery, is exposed to a life-threatening secret when he receives an unexpected visit from his estranged daughter.

Superhost – Two travel vloggers check into a vacation rental with a host that will do anything for a good review.

The Banishing – The story of the most haunted house in England. In the 1930s, a young reverend, his wife and daughter move into a manor that holds a horrifying secret.

A House On The Bayou – Follows a troubled couple and their daughter who go on vacation to an isolated house in the Louisiana bayou to reconnect as a family. But when unexpected visitors arrive, the unity starts to unravel.

Incision – Alexa Landry, a beauty blogger whose only fear is plastic surgery, is kidnapped along with her friends by a deranged plastic surgeon obsessed with beautifying his victims.

Seance – Camille, a young woman who arrives at the Fairfield Academy following one of the student’s untimely and violent death.

The Forever Room – When a young woman wakes up and learns she is a prisoner in a strange place, she discovers that her nightmare is just beginning.

We Need To Do Something – After Melissa and her family seek shelter from a storm, they become trapped. With no sign of rescue, Melissa comes to realize that she and her girlfriend Amy might have something to do with the horrors that threaten her family.

The Inheritance – A woman’s inheritance leads her to Eastern Europe to uncover a dark and disturbing family secret.

Scare Us – Aspiring writers gather in a bookstore to share their tales about the apparent return of a serial killer dubbed “Cutthroat.”

Goodbye Honey – After escaping abduction, a frantic woman must coerce an exhausted truck driver to hide in the back of her truck for the night. The two women take refuge not knowing what the rest of the night has in store.

The Unholy – A hearing-impaired girl is visited by the Virgin Mary and can suddenly hear, speak, and heal the sick. As people flock to witness her miracles, terrifying events unfold.

Slumber Party Massacre – A slumber party turns into a bloodbath when the fun is disrupted by a psychotic serial killer wielding a power drill.

Why? – Writer Blake Sinclair finds herself in a fight for her life against a bloodthirsty maniac who has been leaving multiple victims in his wake as he returns to the mountain town of Northdale.

Dreamcatcher – A masked killer terrorises a disc jockey and a group of friends at an underground music festival in a 48-hour frenzy of violence and mayhem.

The Seventh Day – A renowned exorcist teams up with a rookie priest for his first day of training. As they plunge deeper into hell on earth, the lines between good and evil blur, and their own demons emerge.

Antidote – A young woman is held captive in an underground medical facility where selected individuals are perpetually mutilated and then healed using a secret Antidote.

Shadow In The Cloud – A female WWII pilot traveling with top secret documents on a B-17 Flying Fortress encounters an evil presence on board the flight.

The Last Rite – A medical student suffering from sleep paralysis finds herself plagued by a demonic entity, after moving in with her boyfriend.

Demonic – A young woman unleashes terrifying demons when supernatural forces at the root of a decades-old rift between mother and daughter are ruthlessly revealed.

Honeydew – Strange cravings and hallucinations befall a young couple after seeking shelter in the home of an aging farmer and her peculiar son.

The Resort – Four friends head to Hawaii to investigate reports of a haunting at an abandoned resort in hopes of finding the infamous Half-Faced Girl. When they arrive, they soon learn you should be careful what you wish for.

Shortcut – A mysterious creature terrorizes five teenage friends after their bus takes a shortcut on a desolate road in the wild.

Army Of The Dead – After a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble and venture into the quarantine zone in hopes of pulling off an impossible heist.

Things Heard & Seen – An artist relocates to the Hudson Valley and begins to suspect that her marriage has a sinister darkness, one that rivals her new home’s history.


Well there you have it, my best & worst films of 2021! You may disagree with some or even most of my choices (this is MY opinion) and I know for a fact that I have missed some (I can’t watch ALL the films).
