In this list I’m going to give you a run-down of my best & worst Horror films of 2022

If you want to see the trailers for these films just click on the film name, I’d also like to point out they are in no particular favourite order, So here we go

Terrifier 2 – Resurrected by a sinister entity, Art the Clown returns to Miles County to terrorize a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night.

Barbarian – A young woman discovers the rental home she booked is already occupied by a stranger. Against her better judgment, she decides to spend the night but soon discovers there’s a lot more to fear than just an unexpected house guest.

Fall – Best friends Becky and Hunter find themselves at the top of a 2,000-foot radio tower.

The Sadness – A young couple trying to reunite amid a city ravaged by a plague that turns its victims into deranged, bloodthirsty sadists.

Hellraiser – A young woman must confront the sadistic, supernatural forces behind an enigmatic puzzle box responsible for her brother’s disappearance.

Prey – A skilled Comanche warrior protects her tribe from a highly evolved alien predator that hunts humans for sport, fighting against wilderness, dangerous colonisers and this mysterious creature to keep her people safe.

X – A filmmaking crew and the cast make an adult movie at a reclusive place but elderly hosts find them and try to kill them.

Surrogate – Natalie Paxton, a single mother and nurse, falls mysteriously ill and struggles to stop her family from being destroyed.

Nope – A man and his sister discover something sinister in the skies above their California horse ranch, while the owner of a nearby theme park tries to profit from the mysterious, otherworldly phenomenon.

Orphan: First Kill – After escaping from a psychiatric facility in Estonia, Esther travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family.

The Black Phone – After being abducted by a child killer and locked in a soundproof basement, a 13-year-old boy starts receiving calls on a disconnected phone from the killer’s previous victims.

Sissy – High school best friends Cecilia and Emma run into each other after a decade, and Emma invites Cecilia to her hen’s weekend away. Stuck in a remote cabin with her high school bully, Cecilia quickly develops a taste for revenge.

No Exit – During a blizzard and stranded at an isolated highway rest stop in the mountains, a college student discovers a kidnapped child hidden in a car belonging to one of the people inside.

You Won’t Be Alone – In an isolated mountain village in 19th century Macedonia, a young girl is kidnapped and then transformed into a witch by an ancient spirit.

Something In The Dirt – When neighbours John and Levi witness shocking supernatural events in their Los Angeles apartment building, they realise documenting the paranormal could inject some much-needed fame and fortune into their humdrum lives.

Halloween Ends – Four years after her last encounter with masked killer Michael Myers, Laurie Strode is living with her granddaughter and trying to finish her memoir. Myers hasn’t been seen since, and Laurie finally decides to liberate herself from rage and fear and embrace life. However, when a young man stands accused of murdering a boy that he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that forces Laurie to confront the evil she can’t control.

Watcher – A young American woman moves with her husband to Bucharest, and begins to suspect that a stranger who watches her from the apartment building across the street may be a local serial killer decapitating women.

Shut In – When a young mother is barricaded inside a pantry by her violent ex-boyfriend, she must use ingenuity to protect her two small children from escalating danger while finding an escape.

Fresh – The horrors of modern dating are seen through the eyes of a young woman who is battling to survive her new boyfriend’s unusual appetites.

The Innocents – During the bright Nordic summer, a group of children reveal their dark and mysterious powers when the adults aren’t looking.

Old Man – When a lost hiker stumbles upon an erratic old man living in the woods, he could never have imagined the nightmare that awaits.

Hellbender – A lonely teen discovers her family’s ties to witchcraft.

Speak No Evil – A Danish family visits a Dutch family they met on a holiday. What was supposed to be an idyllic weekend slowly starts unraveling as the Danes try to stay polite in the face of unpleasantness.

What Josiah Saw – A family with buried secrets reunite at a farmhouse after two decades to pay for their past sins.

The Last Slay Ride – When a group of indie filmmakers are ripped off by a crooked distributor, they set out on a mission of revenge, but quickly find themselves facing off against literal bloodsuckers in what becomes the ultimate battle of good vs evil.

Deadstream – A disgraced internet personality attempts to win back his followers by livestreaming one night alone in a haunted house. But when he accidentally pisses off a vengeful spirit, his big comeback event becomes a real-time fight for his life.

Spirit Halloween – Locked inside a store on Halloween night, three middle school friends encounter an angry spirit that possesses creepy animatronic characters.

The Breach – Counting down his last days as Chief of Police in the tiny town of Lone Crow, John Hawkins must investigate one last case when a mangled body with uncanny wounds washes up on the shores of the Porcupine River.

Pennywise: The Story Of IT – A documentary surrounding It (1990), based upon the Stephen King novel of the same name, which featured a notorious villain known mostly as Pennywise.

Beast – A father and his two teenage daughters find themselves hunted by a massive rogue lion intent on proving that the Savanna has but one apex predator.

Son – When a young boy contracts a mysterious illness, his mother must decide how far she will go to protect him from terrifying forces in her past.

Incantation – Six years ago, Li Ronan was cursed after breaking a religious taboo. Now, she must protect her daughter from the consequences of her actions.

The Menu – A young couple travel to a remote island to eat at an exclusive restaurant where the chef has prepared a lavish menu, with some shocking surprises.

Wyrmwood: Apocalypse – In a zombie-infested Australian wasteland, soldier Rhys has dedicated his life to tracking and capturing survivors for the Surgeon General in hopes of finding a cure.

V/H/S/99 – Witness a hellish vision of 1999, as social isolation, analog technology and disturbing home videos fuse into a nightmare of found footage savagery.

Feed Me – Following the death of his wife, a broken man spirals into an abyss of night tremors and depression and finds himself in the home of a deranged cannibal who convinces him to take his own life in the most horrific way imaginable.

Dashcam – Two friends embark on a horror-fueled road trip and livestream the most terrifying night of their lives.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre – Influencers looking to breathe new life into a Texas ghost town encounter Leatherface, the legendary killer who wears a mask of human skin.

Firestarter – A couple desperately try to hide their daughter, Charlie, from a shadowy federal agency that wants to harness her unprecedented gift for turning fire into a weapon of mass destruction.

Choose Or Die – After firing up a lost 1980s survival horror game, a young coder unleashes a hidden curse that tears reality apart, forcing her to make terrifying decisions and face deadly consequences.

The Requin – A couple on a romantic getaway find themselves stranded at sea when a tropical storm sweeps away their villa. In order to survive, they are forced to fight the elements, while sharks circle below.

Goodnight Mommy – When twin brothers arrive home to find their mother’s demeanour altered and her face covered in surgical bandages, they begin to suspect the woman beneath the gauze is not who she says she is.

Abandoned – After a young couple moves into a remote farmhouse with their infant son, the woman’s struggles with postpartum psychosis begin to intensify…as the house reveals secrets of its own.

Slayers – A group of superstar influencers are drawn to a reclusive billionaire’s mansion only to find themselves trapped in the lair of an evil vampire. The only way out is to be saved by a famous online gamer and an old school vampire hunter.

The Coven – A devoted couple’s quiet weekend takes a bizarre turn when a nightmarish cult and their maniacal leader come to fulfill an apocalyptic prophesy.

Grimcutty – A suburban teen girl and her little brother must stop a terrifying internet meme brought to life by the hysteria of their parents.

Exploited – A college freshman becomes obsessed with the previous owner of his school issued laptop.

The Dead Girl In Apartment 03 – After finding her roommate dead under mysterious circumstances, a young woman is haunted inside her apartment.

We’re All Going To The World’s Fair – Alone in her attic bedroom, teenager Casey becomes immersed in an online role-playing horror game, wherein she begins to document the changes that may or may not be happening to her.

Devil’s Workshop – A struggling actor spends a weekend with a female demonologist to prepare for an audition.

Umma – Amanda and her daughter live a quiet life on an American farm, but when the remains of her estranged mother arrive from Korea, Amanda becomes haunted by the fear of turning into her own mother.

The Haunting Of Pendle Hill – While investigating the disappearance of her historian father, a young woman makes a terrifying discovery. It turns out that her dad was researching the infamous Pendle Witch Trials of 1612.

Slapface – A boy deals with the loss of his mother by creating a dangerous relationship with a monster rumored to live in the woods.

Captors – A troubled woman moves into a snowbound mansion, where she encounters strange hallucinations and deadly adversaries.

Incarnation – Young couple Brad and Jess move to Los Angeles in search of a better life. When they stumble upon a hidden real estate gem, the pair are elated. However, their ideal home hides a secret far more sinister than they ever could have imagined.

Run Sweetheart Run – After what seems to be an innocent date, Cherie now faces a night of terror when her date hunts her down and tries to kill her. She now must run for her life throughout the city and escape his grasp.

Men – A young woman goes on a solo vacation to the English countryside following the death of her ex-husband.

They/Them – A group of teenagers at an LGBTQ+ conversion camp endures unsettling psychological techniques while being stalked by a mysterious masked killer.

See For Me – When blind former skier Sophie cat-sits in a secluded mansion, three thieves invade for the hidden safe. Sophie’s only defense is army veteran Kelly. Kelly helps Sophie defend herself against the invaders to survive.

The Free Fall – After attempting to take her own life, a young woman must wrestle with an overbearing husband.

He’s Watching – A brother and sister discover a presence in their home while their parents are in the hospital suffering a mystery illness that seems to only affect adults. The siblings team up to discover what the presence is and how to escape it.

Margaux – A group of college friends rent a smart house for a weekend of partying. Later, they start to realize that Margaux, the house’s super advanced AI system, has sinister designs for them.

Deadware – In 1999, two friends use a webcam for the first time and stumble across a mysterious browser game that may be haunted.

The Lair – When Royal Air Force pilot Lt. Kate Sinclair is shot down over Afghanistan, she finds refuge in an abandoned underground bunker where deadly man-made biological weapons – half human, half alien – are awakened.

House Of Darkness – Hap offers Mina a ride home with ulterior motives, but his night takes a turn when he learns she lives in a creepy American castle…and the shadowy figures in the corridors make it clear that he isn’t welcome.

Shark Bait – A group of friends enjoying a weekend steal a couple of jetskis racing them out to sea, ending up in a horrific head-on collision. They struggle to find a way home with a badly injured friend while from the waters below predators lurk.

The Changed – A group of ordinary people band together in a suburban home to battle imposters who have replaced their families, friends, and neighbours

Well there you have it, my best & worst films of 2022! You may disagree with some or even most of my choices (this is MY opinion) and I know for a fact that I have missed some (I can’t watch ALL the films).
