Horror Review: Home For The Holidays (1972)

An ailing man summons his four daughters home for Christmas.

Let’s be honest, when you hear the words ‘TV-movie’ it doesn’t exactly fill you with hope.

I only recently stumbled across this film as I was searching for festive Horror films, I was quite surprised that I’d never heard of it before.

On reading about it I saw that it was a forgotten American made for TV movie, my curiosity got the better of me and I knew I just had to watch it.

I honestly didn’t know what to expect from this but I was pleasantly surprised, the film plays out like a mystery/thriller more than Horror but it definitely kept me entertained throughout.
The cast do a decent enough job and the story plods along nicely, it’s just a shame that it’s just over an hour long as you feel like it could have played out longer. The feature maybe short but it’s packed with atmosphere, a great sunday afternoon film.
“Home For The Holidays” is definitely worth a watch, if you can find it.
