Horror Review: Wolves At The Door (2017)

Four friends gather at an elegant home during the Summer of Love, 1969. Unbeknownst to them, deadly visitors are waiting outside.

The 1969 Manson crime spree is infamous, so basing your movie on the horrific crimes is a bold move.

As someone who is intrigued by the true story and with the hype around this release it was certain I was going to watch this film, unfortunately for us the feature itself just didn’t hold up at all and was a letdown, a huge disappointment, such a shame as it did have a lot of potential to be great.

First of all the films running time clock in at 73 minutes, this struck me as quite short but when you watch the film it feels like it’s so much longer as scenes are dragged out way too long. At times it feels so uncomfortable to watch as it all feels so forced and just lacking.

Like I said the film is lacking, it lacks at character and story development, it lacks in it’s attempt at creating suspense and tension, it lacks in it’s script. Despite a few well done shots there is nothing really to praise about it, seriously.

The scenes of the killers stalking their victims becomes stale so quickly and you wonder why they insisted on doing it throughout the entire film, it becomes tiresome and boring as a viewer immediately boring as it’s nothing new.

“Wolves At The Door” is a big disappointment and has one of the worst endings I’ve seen in a long time.
