On a quiet suburban street, a babysitter must defend a twelve-year-old boy from intruders, only to discover it’s far from a normal home invasion.#
I’ve been wanting to see this film even when it was originally titled “Safe Neighborhood” which was quite a long time ago now, so I was really happy when it finally got released.
I’ve always loved Holiday Horror films, to see such an innocent holiday like Christmas get the Horror treatment is so much fun that every time I hear about a new release concerning this themed sub genre I make a point of watching them.
Word of this film has been going round for some time now and whilst it has been garnering some good reviews it does seem to be quite a divisive so I approached the film with some trepidation but still with an open mind and found myself surprised.
Luckily I found that I thoroughly enjoyed it, I was expecting more Horror and there was the odd plot hole but the story was a lot of fun. The cast do a great job of keeping our interest and the film has a real fun 80’s retro vibe to it with a modernistic look.
This review might seem like it’s just bare bones and whilst I do apologise for that I must say that this is a film where the less you know about it beforehand the better viewing experience you’ll have, trust me on that. Watch the trailer at your own risk.
“Better Watch Out” is not going to satisfy everyone but it will certainly win over many fans, I see a sleeper hit.
