H.H. Holmes Murder Castle: The Board Game

Explore rooms and collect evidence while battling backstabbing overnight guests and evading Holmes in his thrilling house of horrors.

Here we have another KickStarter success story, a board game based on thenotorious H.H. Holmes murder house. The game plays 2-6 players and is said to last 45-60 minutes for most games.

The castle can be built differently each time using 24 (base game) or 30 (with 2nd Story expansion pack) unique modular room tiles inspired by the original castle’s blueprints and illustrated by the very talented Holly Carden.¬†Trapdoors, greased chutes to the basement, brick walls, and seeping gas are just some of the booby traps you’ll encounter as you travel throughout the castle.

Because Holmes knows the layout of the castle and all of the castle’s elaborate horrors, he can appear in any room with only a moment’s notice.¬†Draw from 79 event cards to gain a competitive advantage or to wreak havoc by sabotaging other players.

Players have assisted Holmes in the development of the castle not knowing the full extent of the house of horrors that Holmes had constructed. Players will explore the castle and move to rooms in order to collect evidence so they can clear their name and avoid being charged as an accomplice. Each player also has a unique ability that can be used once per game.
All players begin the game where this story began… at the Pharmacy. The winner of the game is the first player to complete their evidence board, by collecting all of their evidence cubes, and race back to the Pharmacy.
No word has been said about price or an official release date yet but I’m really looking forward to hopefully getting to play this game, be sure to keep an eye out for details.
